Charade Poster

Director/Producer: Stanley Donen, USA, 1963, 113 mins, 35mm (1.85:1) - PG certificate

She: I already know an awful lot of people, and until one of them dies I couldn't possibly meet anyone else.

He: Well, if anyone goes on the critical list, let me know.

When the she is Audrey Hepburn and the he is Cary Grant you'd expect a bit of stylish film making, and you won't be let down by this prankish, playful picture, with a pair of charming jokers at the top of its deck of murder and intrigue. Reggie Lampert (Hepburn) arrives in Paris to find her estranged husband dead and the flat a mess. Several suspicious friends of the late husband turn up at the funeral and the Local CIA chief warns her that she is in danger. Seems her husband and some wartime buddies had gone AWOL with a shipment of gold, and now someone wants their cut. Luckily for her Peter Joshua (Grant) just happens to be there to offer help.. or is he?
