Taking you further into film

The Canterbury Film Society provides a carefully curated programme of films to captivate, inform and inspire film enthusiasts as well as those on the hunt for alternatives to mainstream cinema. We screen films on Monday nights throughout the year from February through October at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū.

Full membership provides access to all our regular screenings. With over thirty-five films being shown every year, we bring our members into an extraordinary world of cinema for less than $5 per film.

We encourage new members to join us and offer a Flexi-Pass trial so you can come to any three films we’re screening for $30.  We also have regular open events with free entry to all (koha/donations always appreciated).

Come and join us on Monday nights – doors open 7.00pm with an opportunity to socialise and buy drinks and food beforehand. Screenings start at 7.30pm.

Become part of the best-kept film screening secret in town!
