Taking you further into film

The Canterbury Film Society provides a carefully curated programme of films to captivate, inform and inspire film enthusiasts as well as those on the hunt for alternatives to mainstream cinema. We screen films on Mondays nights through the year from February through October at the Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū.

Full membership provides access to all our regular screenings. With 42 films being offered in 2021 season, we bring our members extraordinary films for less than $4 per screening.

We offer new members a Flexi-Pass trial, i.e. any three films for $30. (These may be shared and have no expiry date.) Check out our Open Events with free entry (koha/donations appreciated).

Come and join us on Monday nights – doors open 7.00pm for the purchase of drinks and food and socialising. Screenings start at 7.30pm with a short presentation by a guest speaker.

Become part of the best-kept film screening secret in town!
